ANDERSON — Yvette Simone Higby, 87, of Anderson, died March 26, 2010, at her daughter's residence, following an extended illness.

She was born May 2, 1922, in Elven, France, and had resided in Anderson since 1996. Prior to that, she lived in Mansfield, Ohio, from 1953 to 1996.

Yvette was a homemaker.

She loved the arts. She taught ballroom dancing. She and her husband participated with the French Department at Anderson University. She loved to travel and was an avid reader.

Survivors include . . ..

Yvette was preceded in death by her parents, Adolphe and Henriette (LeHe') Guyodo; her husband, Dorrance B. Higby; and a daughter, Linda-France Higby.

The family would like to thank Advantage, LifeStream Services and Southern Care Hospice for all of their care and concern during all of these years.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Memorial Park Cemetery in Lexington, Ohio, officiated by Ruth Oliver and Pastor Kim Maurer. A reception will follow at Ontario Christian Fellowship, 636 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Mansfield, Ohio.

There will be no visitation.
