Buckley, an attorney, held the office of Justice of the Peace and also was a United States Commissioner, at the time of his death. He served as Pemiscot County's Representative in the Missouri Legislature in 1933 and 1934 and was Captain of Company C, Missouri National Guard for many years. He was the son of John T. and Ruth Blair Buckley and was born March 21, 1901, at Hayti where he had lived all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Britton Buckley, and a daughter, Alice, 15 years old; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Buckley, and two brothers, Rev. N.T. Buckley of Minneapolis, Minn., and J.B. Buckley of Hayti. His father is now serving as Pemiscot County's representative in the Missouri Legislature and J.B. Buckley operates a food market in Hayti.
Funeral services for Buckley were conducted at 3:30 o'clock Monday at the Methodist Church in Hayti, with the Rev. J.T. Evitts in charge. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.

On 12-15-1896 he was married to Miss Sarah Ruth Blair. He served one term each as city marshall and mayor of Hayti and was a school director for about 20 years. At the time of his death, he was serving his seventh term as state representative. Children: John Blair Buckley of Hayti and Nathaniel Terry Buckley of Duluth, Minn.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Jeff Croom and Mrs. Tom Harwell of Henderson, Tenn. and Mrs. L.J. Croom of near Hayti.
