Mrs. Mabel Robbins Gilber, 66, wife of Thomas L. Gilber of 717 Haynes Street, died unexpectedly at General Hospital at 9 a.m. Monday after several months of declining health.

Mrs. Gilbert was a native of Chesnee and was a daughter of Mrs. Eulela Robbins Jolly of Chesnee and the late Lumm Robbins. She was a member of the Duncan Memorial Methodist Chruch.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are: seven daughters, Mrs. George Wilson of Spartanburg Route 7, Mrs. A.D. Wilson of Spartanburg Route 1, Mrs. Leon Arthur, Mrs. Frank Arthur and Mrs. Bill Abbott all of Spartanburg Route 1. Mrs. B.R. Gardner of Spartanburg and Mrs. Kenneth Phelps of Washington, D.C.; three sons, James Dupree and Jake Gilbert all of Spartanburg; two brothers, Lindsey Robbins of Spartanburg and Frank Robbins of Chesnee; 36 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral servies will be conducted at the Johnson Mortuary in Chesnee at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Revs L.E. Burlinton, J.L. Baker and B.E. Terrell. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Grandsons will serve as palbearers.
