He married Olive Perkins on October 23, 1937 in Canterbury, NH.
He leaves his wife; three daughters Grace Johnson of Claremont, NH, Suzanne Knowlton and Gloria LaPlante both of Tampa; son John Lovering Jr of Titusville; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother Earle Lovering of Hudson, MA; and one sister Ida Prescott of Concord, NH.
Burial is in Union cemetery.
