James E. ARCHER Sr. was the son of
• Eli A. ARCHER (born about 1800, died 1839 in Screven County) & his wife
• Jane (born about 1805, died after 1839).

James E. ARCHER Sr. was the nephew of
• David ARCHER (born 1790-1800, dead by 1832), the second husband of Mary THORN CARRUTHERS ARCHER SOUTHWELL, "Polly," and the nephew of
Sabina ARCHER (1800-1883), the second wife of Silas MORTON.

• Thomas K. ARCHER of Effingham County (born 1823-1825, died about 1873, became the second husband of Elizabeth Julia J. BRANNEN GRAHAM in 1864),
David Isaiah ARCHER of Screven County (1828-1904, who first married Sarah Elizabeth LEE in 1848, and then married Sarah Elizabeth HODGES in 1865), and
