VETERAN: U.S. Navy Viet Nam BTCM

Son of
John Francis Sheble and Edna Vern Merriman

He served 23 years in the U.S. Navy and achieved the rank of E-9 Master Chief. Deployed many times on Ammunition ships and Destroyers, there were lots of "West-Pac" cruises to Viet Nam as a Boiler Technician. He swam with sharks off the coast of Africa. He visited the 1958 World's Fair in Belgium, and the Cannes Film Festival in France. He walked St. Peter's Square at the Vatican in Rome and watched men in Greece dancing with one another. But 'death comes like a thief in the night' and after all his adventures on the oceans of the world, he drowned in the Missouri River when he swam after his fishing boat that had slipped away.

You are loved beyond words
missed beyond measure
Your life was a blessing
your memory a treasure
---------------------------------
Broken Chain by Ron Tranmer
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life, we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
