This is my Grandfather.

His family's name was spelled "Schneider" in Germany; however, his father changed it to "Snyder" when they came to America in 1884.

"Gramps" was born in the United States and had a twin sister, Augusta.

His father was Henry Snyder; born Heinrich Schneider, in Germany 1851, died 1943 in Easton, PA. He was a Butcher and owned his own shop in Southside Easton, PA. His mother was Johanna Bendetta-Snyder, also born in Germany 1857, died 1922, Easton, PA. I am seeking additional information on my Great-Grandparents, their Ancestors and descendants. Please contact me if you can help me.

Gramps worked as a Laborer at Penn Salt Company, Easton, Williams Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, USA and was a member of the Pioneer Athletic Association, in Easton.

He was a tall, thin, gentle, quiet and kind Grandfather. He would take his grandchildren on long walks and would take us to an Amusement Park every summer for many years. He even rode the rides with us. (Smiles at that.)

Note by Nina Fucci-Smith, Leo's great granddaughter: Gramp's (Leo) always pronounced his last name as, "Schneider."
