Paul Fisher Greer, 89, died on Monday, March 29, 2010. Born in Camden, TN, to Paul S. Greer and Hubie Fisher Greer on August 17, 1920, Paul graduated from Big Sandy High School and Memphis State College. After serving in the 85th Infantry Division in Europe and Africa in World War II, he briefly taught at Fairview Junior High School and Southside High School. For 37 years, he was a devoted Manual Arts Therapist at the Veterans Administration Hospital, from where he retired as a Case Manager. A faithful member of Raleigh United Methodist Church, Paul was a also a charter member of Raleigh Lodge No. 770, Free and Accepted Masons, and a long-serving volunteer in the Chickasaw Council, BSA, and the chairman of the Northeast District Eagle Board of Review for many years. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, he leaves to celebrate his life and legacy, his wife of 61 years, Margaret Ann; his son David E. Greer and his wife Susan, of Baghdad, Iraq, and his granddaughter, Katie Greer Harvey and her husband Chad, and her mother Vera S. Greer, of Murfreesboro, TN; his daughter, Julia Greer Crow and her husband David, and his grandson J. Greer Crow of Pensacola, FL; his son Paul C. Greer and his wife Carolyn, and his granddaughter, Alexandra, and grandson, Morgan, of Memphis, TN; his sister, Irma Greer Marks of Memphis, TN; his cousins Reba Mae, Rebecca, Aileen and Bella Jane Latimer of Camden, TN. The family would like to thank the staff of the Highlands for the loving care given to Mr. Greer. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, from 5-7 pm, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3 at 2:00 pm, Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Raleigh United Methodist Church; Wesley Senior Ministries; Catholic Charities of Memphis; or St. George's Anglican Church, Baghdad, Iraq, Gifts c/o American Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation the Middle East, P.O.
