G. Wyatt Shaw, resident of Georgia, for some 62 years, died at the age of 92 years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 67 years, Ruth Joyce Shaw, who passed to her reward in January 2008. He is survived by 3 children, Wanda Betterton, Milton Shaw, and Carol McNatt; 7 grandchildren, Brady and Perry Betterton, Leslie Shaw, Leah Lukas, Chad, Troy, and Allison McNatt; 7 great grandchildren, Afton, Michal and Wyatt McNatt, Brock, Jacob, and James Betterton, and Benjamin Lukas; 2 brothers, J. Thomas Shaw and Wayne Shaw; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee in March 1917. He was a graduate of Austin Peay Junior College and served 3 years in the Army during WWII then, he went in business for himself as a self employed salesman. He was a charter member of the Board of Trustees of the Greater Atlanta Christian School, and retired after serving 40 years.

Visitation will be held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in East Point on Wednesday evening, April 15, 2009 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, April 16, 2009 at 11:00am at the East Point Church of Christ Meeting House with Dr. David Fincher, President of G.A.C.S., officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to East Point Church of Christ.
