Victim of the Oklahoma City bombing

On April 19 Calvin and his wife, Peola, went to the Social Security office in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building to apply for disability assistance because he had recently suffered a stroke. Since Calvin could not drive, Peola drove him to his appointment.

Calvin worked as a machinist for Corken International. He attended the Church of the Living God Temple 234.

He was the father of four daughters and a son. Calvin and his wife Peola were both killing in the bombing.

The following obituary provided by Clyde #46994776:

I came across her (their) obit in the Daily Oklahoman.

Peola grew up in Luther, Oklahoma, the daughter of Laura and Cable Alexander. She and
Calvin were married in 1956, and they reared their daughters under the Christian guidance of their profound faith. Peola was a member of Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Peola realized her ever enduring dream of earning a graduate equivalency degree in 1972. She continued on to an associate degree in computer science from Oklahoma State University. Peola & Calvin believed that good citizenship demanded the exercise of civic responsibility after growing up under "Jim Crow" laws.

She belonged to Leader Chapter No. 41 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Federated Women's Association where she was recording secretary. Peola held several positions with Seagate Technology, Inc, beginning as an inspector in 1972, and most recently, as a process operator.

The recent deaths of Calvin and Peola found them at each other's side, as they had been for the past 39 years.
