Mrs. Caroline Behrens.

Mrs. Caroline Behrens, 77, died at 4 a.m. today in her home, 914 Twenty-fourth street, Rock Island, after an illness of two years.

Mrs. Behrens, the former Miss Caroline Tabling, was born Aug. 5, 1865, in Oldenburg, Germany, and came to the United States when she was 21 years old. Shortly after arriving in this country she was wed to Herman Behrens in Lindsay, Neb. He preceded her in death in 1926. Mrs. Behrens had lived in Rock Island for the past three years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.

Surviving are six daughters, Mesdames Joseph H. Parr, Marvin Lyons and Everett Lyons, all of Rock Island; Mrs. Phillip Acker, Amarillo, Texas; Mrs. R. A. Gibson, Omaha, Neb., and P. J. Wagner, Denver, Colo.; two sons, Joseph H., Lindsay, Neb., and Emil W., of Rock Island; 32 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body will be taken from the Wheeler funeral home to Lindsay, Neb., tomorrow for services and burial.

The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8:30 o'clock tonight.
