Also surviving is one daughter: Debbie Murray and husband Bill of Weston, four grandchildren: Danny Murray (Chasidy), Sam Murray (Jennifer), Jon Murray and Ashley Murray, four great grandchildren: Megan Brooke Murray, Ian Thomas Murray, Nicholas Michael Murray and McKensie Jo Murray and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alfred was preceded in death by two brothers: infant brother Roger McVey and Norman McVey and five sisters: infant sister Mary McVey, Gracie Drumm, Eloise Dublin, Vera Murphy, and Madeline McMaster.
Mrs. Alfred was co-owner of Alfred Exterminating from 1971-1997. She also retired from Weston State Hospital as a psychiatric aide and later a switchboard operator. Barbara was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Weston and a graduate of Weston High School with the "Class of 1952."
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, September 4, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. from St. Patrick Catholic Church of Weston with Father Steve Vellalonga as celebrant. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.
