The fifth of twelve children of Gilberto and Tomasa Reyes. He left home of Del Rio Texas at 16 years of age and never returned home. He traveled throughout the mid-west and western United States in the migrant field with his oldest brother Jesse. He then settled in the town of Parlier California (Fresno County). His parents and family would later relocated there also.

Albert worked in the fields of the San Joaquin and Salinas Valley. He later met Alicia Prendiz of Sanger California (Fresno County). He spent 2 1/2 years in El Reno Federal Prison in Oklahoma on drug charges ('53-'55). While in prison he studied music theory and learned to play the acoustic guitar. After his release from federal prison, he married Alicia Prendiz in Oct. '55.

Albert and Alicia moved to the city of Salinas while expecting their first son, then moved back to Parlier in 1956. He had 2 sons, Alex and Albert, Jr. Then he moved his family to Sun Valley California (San Fernando Valley-LA County) in 1958. Then he had 2 more sons, Michael and Levi. He worked in construction for Conrad Construction and A.J. Pacal in North Hollywood. Then due to a back injury, he then worked in the auto uphostery business. He worked on vehicles for actor Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams) and Kristy McNichols father.

Albert was only to see 2 of his grand-daughters (Darlene and Levon) before suffering a massive stroke due to his heavy drinking and smoking. He is much remembered being a family man, his sense of humor, wit, and his guitar playing. He loved playing his guitar and singing many of the Mexican/Spanish classic songs. All his family and friends fondly called and referred to him as "Beto".

Since his untimely passing, 9 more grand-children have been added to his name: Leah, Michael, Kristin, Vanessa, Alexa, Devin, Ashley, Channing, and Caleb. He would be so proud of all his grandchildren. We all miss you Dad and Grampa.
