A loving wife and family sadly announce the passing of their husband, father and grandfather, Kenneth Paul Adamson on Tuesday August 7, 2001, peacefully in his sleep.

Ken was born on July 24, 1925, in American Fork, Utah, to Paul Alexander and Winnifred Smith Adamson. He had wonderful memories of growing up in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was Senior Class president of Pleasant Grove High School class of 1943. Ken had a great passion for flying; he took flying lessons at the early age of 15 and was a P-51 fighter pilot in the Army Air Corps. He later retired as a Major in the Air Force Reserves.

In 1959 Ken graduated with honors from the University of Kansas City, Missouri, School of Dentistry. He was honored with membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Ken practiced Dentistry in West Valley City for 42 years.

He married Lillian Darlene Ercanbrack in the Salt Lake Temple on June 30, 1948. Darlene preceded him in death in 1973. They had five children: Cheryl, Jan, Jill, Jeff and Liz.

He met and fell in love with Estella DeLone Williams. They were married on September 14, 1974; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Ken had a great love for life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, boating, and fishing. He also enjoyed his membership in Daedaliens (a military pilots association). He will be remembered by all for his witty humor and great passion for history.

Ken was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the time of his passing, he and his wife were enjoying their church calling at ARTEC.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife DeLone of Salt Lake; sister Raquell Condie, Salt Lake; children: Cheryl (Rich) Baldwin, Dallas, TX; Jan (Scott) Dee, Newport Beach, CA; Jill (Ken) Buckmiller, Kaysville, UT; Jeff (Beth) Adamson, Sandy, UT; Liz (Russ) Lupinacci, Salt Lake, UT; stepchildren: Randy (Ann Marie) Kienke, Layton, UT; Karen (Garry) Bell, Murray, UT; Larry (Julia) Kienke, Bountiful, UT; 23 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by wife Darlene, his parents and granddaughter, Tamara.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 11, 2001, at the Olympus 1st Ward, 2485 East 4115 South (4100 Camille Street), Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, on Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and at the church on Saturday morning 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to service. Ken will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 600 N. 100 W., Pleasant Grove City, Utah.

We want to thank the great outpouring of love and support from family and friends. (Published in the Deseret News, Thursday, August 9, 2001.)
