George Melton Smith, Jr., married Lina Victoria Mullinax, daughter of Frank N. and Mary E. Price Mullinax, June 12, 1890 in Polk County, GA.

Children: Ida Belle Smith, William E. Smith, Henry Smith, Leamon Andrew Smith, Bessie May Floralee Smith, Charlie Smith, Daniel Webster Smith, Dollie Virginia Smith, Louise Smith, Odesse R. Smith, Argris Evangeline Smith and Jewell Smith.

Mr. George Melton Smith, 77, died at the home of his son, Rev. L. A. Smith on East avenue Friday morning after an extended illness. Funeral services were held from West End Baptist church Sunday afternoon with Rev. Ed Dempsey and Rev. Buddy York officiating. Burial was in New Harmony Cemetery with Bisaner's Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were A. L. Carlisle, Willard Ledbetter, Homer Grogan, John Benton, Clarence Benson and A. R. Reagan. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Alex Stevens, Mrs. Bob Wood, Mrs. Bob Whitehead, Mrs. Ralph Stevens, and Mrs. Belle Couzzart; two sons Webb and L. A.
