Mr. Colbert was born in St Cloud July 1, 1905, but lived in St Paul where he attended school before returning here in 1929. He was married to Floreine Chandler in St Paul , Sept. 16, 1926. He was the son of Maurice M. and Florence Brigham Colbert. He was a vestryman at St. John's Church for several years. He was president of the St Cloud Safety Council and was active in the organization of the school safety patrol here. He received the Junior Chamber of Commerce distinguished service award in 1935, given for outstanding civic service and constructive citizenship.
Survivors are his widow, two sons, Richard Jr., St. Cloud; and Rev. Douglass C., Honolulu, Hawaii; a daughter, Mrs. James F. Nelson, (Betty), Foley; a sister, Emily Colbert, St. Paul; brother, Murray, St. Cloud; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dr. C.F. Brigham, Wesley M. Chandler, Dorland Merrifield, Emil Malxner, Loyd Haxby and Edward Gerads.
