Mrs. Lena Victoria Smith, 83, of 522 East Ave., passed away late Tuesday, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held in the Cedartown Second Baptist Church at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, the Rev. Buddy York, the Rev. Ivey Cash, and the Rev. Clifford Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Cedartown Second Baptist church. She had lived in Polk County for the past 60 years, and was preceded in death by her husband, George Melton Smith 16 years ago. Survivors include one son, Webb Smith of Cedartown; five daughters, Mrs. Ralph Stephens of Cedartown, Mrs. Bob Whitehead of Cedartown, Mrs., Dolly Wood of Cedartown, Mrs. Jesse Couzzourt of Milledgeville, and Mrs. Alex Stephenson of Cedartown; three sisters, Mrs. Adeline Brown of Cedartown, Mrs. Will Price of Tecumseh, Ala., and Mrs. Lewis Hudgins of Rome; 27 grandchildren, 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Cecil Blair, George Massey, Jr., John Chendler, Vernon Stephens, J. C. Chambers, Ellis Yarbrough, and James H. Yarbrough. The Southside Trio and the Second Baptist W.M.U. ladies will furnish the music. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
