Spouse: Ludowina "Laura" de Freitas Caires. He was named "Francisco" by his father on his birth certificate, Baptized in the Roman Catholic Church as "William" by his mother, thus he used his baptized name as his regular name. "Francisco" name was added to his name by the State of Hawaii as an amended birth certificate issued on 23 Oct 1952. He continued to use his original baptized name until his death.
He was famous for his fishing skills with a kite during WW-2 and thereafter until his illness in 1955 and his Bowling skills before he was married and in his retirement years. He taught his grandchildren their skills in bowling, which he loved.
