Biography: Father Remaklus was a graduate of Dunkirk High School-Class of 1939. He graduated from Sacred Heart Seminary in Fort Wayne in 1942, and St. Meinrad Seminary in 1947. He was ordained on May 31, 1947 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Lafayette where he served as an assistant priest/pastor until 1948 and then served at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Logansport until 1952. Father Remaklus served as priest/pastor at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Kewanna from 1952-1960, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Attica from 1960 to 1970 and at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria from 1970 to 1987. He retired from the Alexandria parish due to his health in 1987, but continued to remain active in priestly ministry as long as he was able. He moved to his retreat home in Hartford City in 1987. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Monsignors Travers Council in Anderson and the BPOE Elks-#1776 in Dunkirk. Father Remaklus traveled extensively through the United States and the world, having visited Canada, Europe, Mexico, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Samoa.

Funeral Service Time and Day: A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in the Church of Saint Mary at Alexandria, 820 West Madison Street
Officiating: Bishop William L. Higi as Celebrant and the priests of Diocese of Lafayette
Interment: A graveside service will take place at 3 pm in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Bryant, Indiana
Visitation: Friends may call at the Church of Saint Mary at Alexandria on Tuesday from 4 pm to
7 pm. A Rite of Welcome will begin the reception hours at 4 pm, a Rosary Service will take place at 6 pm and a Vigil Service will take place at 7 pm to close the visitation reception hours. The family will also receive friends after 10:30 am on Wednesday prior to the Mass.
Memorial Contributions: May be made to the Building Fund of the Church of Saint Mary at Alexandria.
