Mr. Kenneth Slaughter, age 26, of Esom Hill, died Friday, July 24, 1998 at a Rome hospital. Mr. Slaughter was a lifelong resident of Esom Hill and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He was employed by the Slaughter Grocery Store. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bryant Slaughter. Survivors include his wife Gina Hambert Slaughter of Esom Hill; a daughter, Kaley Elizabeth Slaughter; his parents, Edith Slaughter Deese of Weedowee, Ala., and Jackie K. Slaughter of Esom Hill; two sisters, Jacqueline Astin of Cedartown, and Susan Knowles of Rome; a grandmother, Velma Slaughter of Esom Hill. Funeral services were held Monday, July 27, 1998 at the Mickelson-McGee Funeral Home in Piedmont, Ala., with the Rev. Robert right and the Rev. Darrell Webb officiating. Interment followed at the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers included Chris Shaw, Chad Casey, Jeremy Christopher, Tracy Cooper, Grant Chandler, Tim Poole, John Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Randall Chandler and Scott Cheatwood.
