MRS. ELIZA JANE CAMPBELL DEAD AT 80
Services for Long-Time Resident Held This Afternoon at Grace Presbyterian Church
Mrs. Eliza Jane Campbell, a resident of the Jasper community 73 years, died at 7:30 o'clock Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Guy E. Nixon, 20 miles northeast of Carthage. She had been ill some time.
Mrs. Campbell, who was born November 12, 1863 in Peoria, IL., came to this district with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John J. Davis, as a child of seven. Surviving besides her daughter are a brother, C. Ed Davis of Joplin; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Newland of Lockwood and Mrs. Edna Kreeger of Kansas City; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A daughter, Miss Anna Campbell, died in 1931. Mrs. Campbell's husband, John F. Campbell, preceded her in death.
The body was moved to the Ulmer Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at Grace Presbyterian church, northeast of Carthage, of which Mrs. Campbell was a member. The Rev. E. P. Smith, pastor was in charge.
