This is my Uncle Howard Edward Hall. He was my Dad's older brother and I think that when they were young, they were pretty close. Their father, William Benjamin Hall, died suddenly in 1912, leaving the family with no provider.

My Dad told me that he & Uncle Howard went to the steel mills in Gary, Indiana & lied about their age so they could work to send money home. It must have been a very hard time for the family.

I never saw too much of my Uncle Howard because he lived in Lexington, which was a long way from Buffalo, New York, where we lived. I think my Dad went back to visit, though.

Uncle Howard was married to Marjorie Penn and they had one daughter, Marjorie Alice. I always loved her and admired her...she is a very talented dancer. I wish I knew more about my Uncle Howard. I know he & Aunt Marjorie operated a dance studio in Lexington that is still run by a member of the Hall family today. I would love to go see it.
