George "Woody" Bennett, 69, a retired heavy-equipment mechanic, died Tuesday in his Glendale residence. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. Seventh St. He moved to Arizona 25 years ago from his native Portland, Ore. Although he was retired, he was working part-time for Massey Machine Works. Survivors include his wife, Florence; three daughters, Betty Sharp, Elizabeth Robinson and Helen Thomas; a sister; a brother; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
