Joseph was born in Fort Dodge on October 11, 1924 to Giacomo (Jacob) Fiaccobino and Assunta (Mary) Barbasola who immigrated from Sicily. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School and was drafted into the Army Air Force during WWII serving in Manila, Philippines. On June 1, 1946 he married Norma Stockwell and they lived in Fort Dodge. They had six children and he worked for the Illinois Central Rail Road and then went into electronics, selling and repairing TV's and radios. He lived in Iowa City for almost 25 years and then returned to Fort Dodge. His hobby was playing bingo. During his retirement he helped Reverend Penny remodel the basement of the Bethel AME church in Iowa City.
He is survived by his six children, Mary Davis, Joseph Breno Jr., Patricia Breno, Paula Kinyon, John Breno and Cynthia Adams; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and a special friend Helen. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma; parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
