Agnes was a pistol and although her temper could rise, her generosity was unmatched. She adored her parents and siblings.
Agnes married her precious Ross Taylor Kennedy on August 4th, 1917 in Portland, Oregon and to this lifelong union they had only one child, James Ray Kennedy.
Agnes worked very hard over the years mostly in secretarial fields but caring for their son Ray was of the greatest importance. She and Ross were very proud of Ray and loved him very much. Ray was born in Pendleton, Oregon and in his early teens his doctor suggested that they move him to a damper climate so they moved to Tacoma, Washington. In the 1950's Agnes and Ross bought and managed a tavern in downtown Tacoma. Later on they owned a cabinet shop and built houses. In 1959 they moved to Whidbey Island where they resided for the rest of their lives. Ray and his family moved to the "Island" in 1958.
On Whidbey Agnes and Ross owned another cabinet shop and built many houses in and around Oak Harbor. Ross passed away at the age of 66 in 1963 leaving a very devastated Agnes. Unable to carry on the cabinet shop Agnes ran a childcare business in her home until she had a serious fall in which she broke her hip and wrist.
Agnes outlived her son Ray by 3 years but was unaware as she suffered a form of Dementia. She was very loved and appreciated.
