Mrs. Lilley

Mary Agatha Wynn Lilley, 87, of Lampasas died July 26, 2005, in a Temple hospital.
Funeral services are July 29 at 10 a.m. at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Kevin Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Lilley was born June 25, 1918, in Southland in Lynn County, to Walter Harrison and Cornelia Jane Haralson Wynn.
She attended Hackberry School through the eighth grade, then rode the bus to Southland High School, graduating in 1936.
She married Virgil Theodore Lilley on June 6, 1936, in Slaton. They lived in Lubbock County for two years, followed by Eastland and Abernathy, moving to Lampasas in 1946.
Mrs. Lilley was a member of First Street Church of Christ. She also was a member of Extension Homemakers serving in local, county and district positions. She was a district director in 1969-70. In 1986, she was named Lampasas County Homemaker of the Year. In 2001, Mrs. Lilley was honored at the state convention as a 50-year member. She also served as a 4-H leader for a number of years.
She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, reading and testing new recipes.
Survivors include three daughters, Wilma Faye Lilley Reeves, of Hallettsville, Patsy Ruth Lilley Reichardt, and husband, Hal, of Shiner, and Linda Sue Lilley, of Austin; one son, Virgil E. Lilley, and wife, Sue, of Lampasas; four grandchildren, Roxanna Reeves Spalding, Michelle Phillips, Heather Foreman and Stewart Wynn Lilley; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Foreman, Derek and Mikal Gillum and Tiffany Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband; by two brothers, Eli Carroll Wynn and Robert William Wynn; by two sisters, Virgie Bloxom and Carrie Mae Warren; and by a son-in-law, Macel Thander Reeves.
The family requested memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
