JOHN HORGAS
John P. Horgas, 79, of Duquesne died today in McKeesport Hospital. A retired employee of Duquesne plant, U. S. Steel Corp., he was a member of Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin, its Rosary Society and Third Order of St. Francis. Born in Czechoslovakia, June 27, 1898, he was the son of Joseph and Anna Matta Horgas. Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth Sabol Horgas; daughter, Gertrude Polatas of Duquesne; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sons Edward and William Horgas of West Mifflin, John at Home and Bernard of Natrona Heights; and sister, Helen Waynick of Wall. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m., beginning tomorrow, in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Duquesne. A blessing there Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. will be followed by mass of christian burial at 10 in Holy Trinity Church, the Rev. George Margo will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
