John Dawson died on Redington St., in Hanford from complications from Diabetes. I believe that he died just before Insulin was starting to be used. He had 25 acres of land in Vinyards and 100 acres in Alfalfa. He was also the person responsible for introducing practical ag methods such as irrigation to this part of California. In 1898 he resided from his Director duties with the irrigation district and took off to Alaska, prospecting along the Pike River and Nome.
