Funeral services for Albert Hagedorn were held Wednesday, Mar. 24, at 11 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ with interment at the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hagedorn died Sunday, Marc. 21, at St. Joseph's Hospital in New Hampton after a lingering illness. He had suffered a stroke in June, 1968, and had been at Sunrise Guest Home for the last 18 months.

Rev. David Fye officiated at the services. Mrs. Arnold Kleiss was the organist and Mrs. Wayne Lienau the soloist.

Pallbearers included Leslie Shufelt, Paul Tessmer, James Mikes, Victor Steege, Henry Justen and Alvin Gitch.

Albert Hagedorn was born Sept. 11, 1905, and was the son of Levi and Amelia (Malzahn) Hagedorn of Fredericksburg.

He attended the rural school of Chickasaw County and was a member of the first class to graduate from the Frederika High School in 1926. He later graduated from the Auto and Mechanic School of Lincoln, Neb. He was married to Emma Rabe on June 4, 1931, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. They lived their entire married life at Fredericksburg where he operated a portable feed mill for 11 years and later farmed until retiring in January, 1969.

He had served on the Church Council, the Fredericksburg School Board, and had also served as a director and president of the Farmers Co-op Elevator.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; two daughters, Mrs. Art (Ruth) Pries of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Ray (Betty) Niewoehner of Fredericksburg; two sons, Wayne of Fredericksburg and Roger of Sumner; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Bertha Hagedorn of Fredericksburg, Marie Hagedorn of Charles City, Mrs. Anna Priebe of New Hampton, and Mrs. Wilko (Emma) Schroder of Sumner; and three brothers, Ed Hagedorn of Fredericksburg, Louis Hagedorn of Ionia and Leslie Hagedorn of New Hampton.

Mr. Hagedorn was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Will; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Ida) Steege and Mrs. Oliver (Leola) Munson; and an infant brother and sister.
