Thomas John BARBANO
Beloved husband, father and grandfather died at home surrounded by family on Dec. 23 after a 7-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Tom was the third of four sons born to Thomas and Mary Barbano in Brooklyn, NY on Feb. 19, 1933. He graduated from Fordham University in 1956. Tom served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant and honorably discharged in 1960. After the Army, he embarked on his first career which was in the insurance business, starting in New York City, then San Francisco, and finally to Seattle where he retired from the St. Paul Company after 25 years. Tom's second career was in the restaurant business. He operated franchises of both the Skipper's Seafood and Round Table Pizza restaurant chains. Tom's greatest joy in life was his family. He married Lorraine Trentin in 1960. Tom lived out his deep faith as a volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Snohomish County and was an active member of the Sno-King Serra Club and Holy Rosary Parish where he was a member for 35 years. Tom is survived by, and will be dearly missed by his wife, Lorraine; sons, Tom, Jr. (Terrie), Andrew (Claudia), Paul (Colleen) and Michael; grandchildren, Caroline, Francesca, Thomas, Greyson and Vincent; his brother, Joseph; and many much loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony and Guy. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 360 - 7th Ave. N in Edmonds with reception following. Burial at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his name to Holy Rosary St. Vincent de Paul.
