CLYO -- Paul "Dad" Derrick, 64, died Aug. 5 at Effingham Hospital.

He was a native of Harrisonburg, Va., and a resident of Effingham County for many years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He was employed by J.W. Exley Lumber Co., in Clyo. He was involved in the local racing industry.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Doris Exley Derrick of Clyo; a daughter, Mary D. Boyles of Clyo; his father, Rev. George S. Derrick of Clyo; a brother, Jimmy M. Derrick of Clyo; and a number of nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, burial in Springfield Annex Cemetery.
