Edwin A. Hohensee, age 91, Antigo, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at his home.

He was born April 6, 1918 in Aniwa, the son of the late Frank and Clara (Hetzel) Hohensee.

On February 8, 1947 Edwin was united in marriage to Miriam Williams at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Gresham, S.C. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2007.

Edwin was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Survivors include seven children, Lynette (John) Nelson, Naperville, IL, Linda (Gerald) Standiford, Wausau, Phillip (Jo-Anne) Hohensee, Buena Park, CA, William Hohensee, Wausau, Carl (Eva) Hohensee, Antigo, Frederick (Nancy) Hohensee, Oconomowoc and James (Melody) Hohensee, Antigo; 20 Grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one brother, Gilbert (Gloria) Hohensee, Aniwa.

In addition to his wife and parents, Edwin was preceded in death by one daughter; Mary L. Hohensee, three brothers; Ervin, Milton and Elmer and one sister; Adeline Vogel.

Visitation:
Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of services at the funeral home.

Service:
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. The Rev. Phillip Hohensee will officiate.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Aniwa with military rites conducted by the Darling Gunderson American Legion Post #341.
