MCINTIRE MAN

Funeral services were held for a McIntire man, Myron Starry, 80, February 21, 1980, at the Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy, with the Reverend George Bergland officiating. Interment was at the Wayne Cemetery near McIntire.

Mr. Starry was born August 24, 1900 in Waterman, Illinois, the son of Daniel and Sophie Starry.

He was united in marriage to Edith Van Syoc on December 8, 1923. They farmed in the McIntire-Riceville area during their early years and later owned and operated a grocery store in McInitire. During his retirement he resided in McIntire and in 1979 due to failing health, made his home with his daughter and family in Austin.

He is survived by his six children; Mrs. Floyd (Maxine) DeVries of Austin, Mrs. Clyde (Bernice) Walker of Elma, Robert D. Starry of McIntire, Dennis C. Starry of Austin, Mrs. Roger (Mary) Hultman of Austin, Donald E. Starry of Austin. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Frank Starry of Austin and three sisters; Mrs. Edna Carter and Mrs. Irene Nicholas, both of Riceville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, one brother, Ben and two sisters, Stella and Minnie.
