William was the son of Emmett & Mary (Thomas) Gibbins.

He was a blacksmith and went from town to town to ply his craft. He and his wife also ran various hotels in Texas.

This is the only grave, in the Gibbins plot, that has a headstone which seems ironic since his death was a suicide.

On the 1900 federal census he gives his birth as Nov 1854. His death certificate gives January 30th as the date of his death.
