Graveside services for Murel Adams, Memphis, Missouri, were held March 15, 1995
at the Hickory Grove Cemetery, west of Arbela, Missouri. Reverend Ernest Deatrick officiated the service.
Murel Adams, 93, died March 11, 1995, at the Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
He was born in Granger, Missouri, on November 14, 1901, the son of William A. and Iva Lee Monroe Adams.
He married Rachel Pointer on March 5, 1923 and she preceded him in death on October 6, 1971.
Mr. Adams was a retired farmer and cattle feeder. He lived his entire life in Clark and Scotland Counties in Missouri. In his retirement years he spent many hours as caretaker of the Hickory Grove Cemetery. He was a former member of Modern Woodsmen.
He was preceded in death by his parents,; his wife, Rachel; one sister, Wayful Adams Stone; and three brothers, Ira, Clifford and Gale Adams.
Murel Adams is survived by two nephews, Wayne Adams of Keokuk, Iowa and Jim Adams of Springville, California; and three nieces, Twila Fulk of Memphis, Missouri; Sherry Jean Ryan of Bloomfield, Iowa; and Jan Teague of California.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, Missouri, was in charge of arrangements.
