She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late, Lawrence Albert and Loni Hall Cogburn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Olin Adamson, who died in 1992 and three sisters, Gladys Hannah, Eva Trull and Willie Pless. Mary Lou was employed at Silver Bluff Nursing Home in the dietary department for eight years and was a member of East Fork Baptist Church. She loved and enjoyed her family very much.
She is survived by two daughters, one son, one brother, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at East Fork Baptist Church where the body will lie in state. Burial will follow in New Cruso Cemetery.
