My Great Uncle, Roy William Billingsley, fought in both World Wars. In WW 1, he was captured by the Germans when he was only 17 years old. On his release, he was sent back to his unit and continued until he was discharged. But the government reported him dead and the Courier Journal newspaper did an article about him in August 1918 stating he was dead. About a year later, he returned home and when his sister, Pearl, answered the door, she fainted from shock. He lived another 60 years but never had children.
