Jane was born in abt. 1788 in England or Ireland. She emigrated to North America in abt. 1818 with her husband Robert Douglass (and possibly with her brother David Hunter and his wife Lydia Douglas). They lived in Vermont for a few years and then moved over the border to Stanbridge where they lived the rest of their lives. Jane and Robert had at least nine children together.
