Son of John and Lucy (Crumpler) Butler.

Brother to Jacob, Adam, Ezekiel, Phillip and Gabriel. We believe that there were sisters, but due to lack of names on census records before 1850, and with many John Butlers out there and no family records to go by, unable to know.

What is known of family history. Some of the sons left North Carolina and moved to Georgia in the early 1820's, it is unknown for sure when their parents moved there. Many of the sons stayed in Georgia, where as father and son Phillip went to Texas after 1850 census. Not sure if Gabriel came to join them later. John was killed from a fall of some kind in 1860 in Wood County, Texas. Listed as farmer, as they all were. We are unsure when and where Lucy past.

Isaac had been married before with one known son still living. Listed as male between ages of 10 thru 14 in 1830 census, name unknown, nor do we know if they had other children or what wife's name was, but believe married in North Carolina before moving to Georgia.

He was united in marriage with Elisa L. West in about 1836/37 in Georgia, and they had 9 known children.

He is my 2nd Great Grand Uncle.
