16 Feb 1956: George H. Snyder, husband of Alice K. (Kercher) Snder, Lebanon R.D 2, died last night in Reading Hospital. He was 68. Death was attributed to complications in a brief illness. Snyder was a retired Bethlehem Steel Company worker. He was a son of the late George and Diana Rittle Snyder. He belonged to Kimmerlings Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Mt. Zion Fire Company, and the Frystown Fire Company. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Cyril G. and Charles W. both of Lebanon; two daughters, Elsie, wife of John Demler, Jonestown, and Beatrice, wife of James Murrell, Savannah, Ga.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Robert E. Snyder, Lebanon; two step-brothers, Raymond Snyder, Lebanon, and Luke Snyder, Newmanstown; a sister, Mrs. Albert Moyer, West Myerstown; four step-sisters: Mrs. Miles Gross, Mrs. George Seltzer and Mrs. Ralph Degler, Lebanon, and Mrs. Mabel Shepps, Avon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
