Part of her obituary reads as follows:
In each of her new pioneer homes she, with her husband, underwent the many privations of pioneer life, living in sod houses and dugouts and raising and educating a splendid family. She was ever ready to lend a helping hand in real practical home mission work to uplift the lowly and lead them to Christ. The weary of earth were always welcome at her humble cot by the side of the road and no one was ever turned away hungry.
