Eleanor London Sterling, age 86 of Big Rapids passed away Wednesday, April 07, 2010 in Big Rapids. She was born August 4, 1923 In Mecosta County to Warren and Opal (Warner) Adams.
She was an auxiliary member of Big Rapids Am Vets Post #1941, Big Rapids American Legion Post #98, and Big Rapids Eagles Aerie #2535.
Eleanor is survived by her 5 children, Linda (Jim) Showers of Rodney, Karen (Bruce) Cocklin of Big Rapids, Patricia Drews and Al of Rogers Heights, Priscilla (John) Slendak of Indiana, and Kevin (Vicky) London of Stanwood; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a brother, Wayne (Doretha) Adams of Mecosta; a sister, JoAnn (Harold) Jehnzen of Rodney; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Stub London and a sister, Ruth Gladding.
The family will greet friends at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, until Funeral services. Interment will be at Rodney Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Eleanor's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
