Carl M. Glisson, of Cedar Hollow Road, Paoli, a conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad, was taken ill at an early hour this morning aboard the Harrisburg-New York train shortly after leaving the capital city. He died suddenly and the body was taken off the train at Lancaster.
Mr. Glisson, who had not been working for the past six months, because of illness, returned to duty last week and was on his regular run today when stricken. He was in his 57th year.
Born in West Chester, the son of William B. and Clara Manley Glisson, he spent all of his life in this vicinity, having lived in Paoli since boyhood. He was a member of the Paoli Presbyterian Church; Paoli Lodge I.O.O.F. No. 290, the Encampment and the Past Noble Grand Association and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Dowdall Glisson; a son, William, of Seattle, Washington; a daughter, Elma, wife of William Long, of Elkton, Md., and three grandchildren. Also three sisters, Lillie, wife of Harry Weaver, Paoli, Florence, wife of William M. Beidler, Paoli, and Beulah, wife of David Weaver, Malvern. There are many other relatives in Chester County.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Mauger's Funeral Home, 24 Monument Ave., Malvern, on Saturday, July 13, at 2 p.m., D.S.T. Interment in Good Samaritan Cemetery, Paoli. Friends may call Friday evening 7 - 9 o'clock.
