Son of Fidele and Christina (DiSandro) Incollingo.

He is well known in Southern Indiana for his human interest columns and books featuring, as he said, "extra-ordinary ordinary people." Many of his numerous books include stories that had first appeared in his syndicated newspaper column. He worked for the Bloomington Herald-Times until he retired, although he still published a weekly Sunday column until his death.

He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II as a Pharmacist Mate. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Lawrence County and Monroe County Historical Societies and the Stinesville Renaissance Group.

Survivors include his wife, Marion Quinn Fleener Incollingo of Bloomington, five daughters, Linda Hatch of Apple Valley, CA, Patricia Comer of Bedford, IN, Susie Lambton and Mary Jane Neely both of Mooresville, IN, and Lisa Strange of Oolitic, IN, one son, Larry Incollingo Jr., of Harrodsburg, IN, one step-daughter, Jayne Fleener of Baton Rouge, LA, one step-son, John Fleener Jr. of Bloomington, four sisters, Patsy Ulmschneider of East Greenwich, RI, Ann Sullivan of Warren, RI, Chris Midlin-McNeill of West Hartford, CT, and Carole Woodruff of Honolulu, HI, two brothers, Alfred Incollingo and Fidele Incollingo Jr. both of Warren, RI.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, one step-grandson, and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Juanita Goodin Incollingo, daughter, Teeny Shoemaker Meade, two sisters and one brother.
