John Joseph Battershell, 59, of RD 2, Alliance, died in his home at 5 a.m. Friday, June 24, after an illnes of six weeks. Born in Alliance, he had lived here all his life. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace Battershell; two sons, Robert and Donald Battershell of Alliance; one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Egli of Alliance; his mother, Mrs. Alice J. Battershell of Alliance; five brothers, Phillip, Walter, Roy and Charles, all of Alliance, and Carr Battershell of Cuyahoga Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Hartenstein, Mrs. Ora Haas and Mrs. Eileen Emery, all of Alliance, and Mrs. Opal McGirr of Chicago, and 10 grandchildren.
