WM. FRUHRIEP DIES Saturday
Aged Resident of Town of Newton Dies at 92
After a week's illness, William Fruhriep Sr., aged 92, and a resident of the county since 1878, died Saturday evening at the home of his only son, William Jr. in the town of Newton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
Fruhriep homestead and at 2:30 from the St. John's Lutheran church at Newtonburg, of which the deceased was a member.
Mr. Fruhriep was born in 1840 at Mecklenburg, Germany, and grew to manhood there.
He was married to Miss Caroline Hafke there and they emigrated to America in 1869 locating first in Mokum county, Michigan. They resided there for ten years and then moved to Newton in 1878 where Mr. Fruhriep took up a farm where they continued to
reside. His wife passed away in 1922.
One son, William Jr., two grandchildren, and four great grand-
children survive.
