Hastings resident Gustav Kissler, 87, died Friday, March 7, 1997, at Good Samaritan Village Perkins Pavilion.
• • Mr. Kissler was born Sept. 13, 1909, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Walter) Kissler in Frank, Russia. He worked in the sugar beet fields in Colorado. He moved to Hoskins where he farmed with his father. In the 1930s he moved to Hastings. He worked at Western Land Roller, Dick's Sheet Metal and Jones Heating and Air Condition and General Heating and Air Conditioning. He retired in 1974.
He was an active member of New York Avenue Congregational Church where he was chairman of the board for many years. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge No.50 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors are one daughter, Patricia Kissler of Denver; two sons, Donald of Hastings and Wayne of Bloomington, Ill.; three sisters, Linda Crow, Frieda Newman and Leona Wisker, all of Hastings; and four grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and one grandchild.
Services are with the Rev. I Steve Markle officiating.
