Clifford Warren Clark, 77, of rural Alexandria, Missouri, died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at his home in St. Francisville. Born May 4, 1922, near St. Patrick, he was a son of Earl and Bessie Baker Clark. He married Doris Briggs in 1945. He married Evelyn Leeds May 23, 1958. She survives. Mr. Clark was a World War II army veteran serving in the Philipines and Japan. He had been employed at Thomas Truck and Castor in Keokuk, Iowa, and later at Fruehauf in Fort Madison. Since retiring he had operated a welding shop and canoe rental business in St. Francisville. He was a member of the St. Francisville United Methodist Church and the John Deere two-cylinder club. He enjoyed collecting old John Deere tractors, hunting turkey and deer, fishing and gardening. Survivors also include six sons, Dale Clark of Revere, David Clark of Montrose, Iowa, Mike Clark of Kahoka, Danny Clark of Lowell, Michigan, Nathan Clark of Kirksville, and Kevn Clark of rural Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Kephart of Donnellson, Iowa; three brothers, Joe Clark of Canton, Wayne Clark of Canton, and Jim Clark of Sedalia; four sisters, Mary Watson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Ed (Frances Emme) of St. Louis, Mrs. Travis (Dorothy "Dottie") Gorrell of Canton, and Marilyn Clark of Louisville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marge Selb and Marguerite Entzeroth.
