Edna Phyllis Yancey, 96 years of age of North Fork, Idaho passed away on March 12, 2017 at the Steele Memorial Medical Center of Salmon, Idaho. Inurnment will be in the Salmon Cemetery next to her husband Dwight.

She was born on January 22, 1921 in Florence, Colorado the daughter of Frederic and Edna Charlotte (Smith) Furnas.

E. Phyllis Furnas was united in marriage to Dwight Brownlow Yancey on June 1, 1946 in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in Oakland, Californian until 1968 when they moved to Alameda, California. Following Dwight’s retirement, in June of 1971, they moved to North Fork, Idaho where Phyllis remained until her health forced her to move into the Discovery Care Center in Salmon.

E. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Patricia Gilson of Bellevue, Washington; grandson Michael Gilson of Seattle, Washington, granddaughter Erin Gilson of Bellevue, Washington; two great grandchildren: Lorelai and Kahlan Gilson of Bellevue, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dwight, sister’s Gladys Perkins and Mona Swift and brother Roy Furnas.
