"C. L. HARRIS PASSES AWAY
"Clarence L. Harris, one of the most prosperous and well known farmers of this country, died at his home northeast of here yesterday at about 4:00 o'clock. He had been suffering from an attack of pneumonia.
"Funeral services will be conducted at the home Friday morning, at nine o'clock, by Mr. Marion Clothier, after which, the remains will be taken to Sun City, Kansas, for interment."
"Renfrew's Record", Fri., May 25, 1917:
"Clarence L. Harris, former resident of Lake City, Kansas, but living at the time of his death at Freedom, Oklahoma, departed this life May 16, at 4 o'clock P.M., of pneumonia fever, after an illness of 5 weeks. Every thing that medical aid and kind friend could do was done to prolong his life but all was hopeless. He was born in Ill. June 16, 1868, being 48 years, 11 months old. He moved to Kansas with his parents in the early days and settled near Emporia, and later moved to Sun City, Kan, where he was married to Miss Mabel Saunders, July 3, 1898. One child was born to this union which died in infancy. He then moved to Oklahoma and has lived there ever since. He is survived by his wife, two brothers and one sister and a nephew, Lute Harris of Canton, Okla., Edd Harris of Colorado and Mrs. Mollie Blanka of Canton, Okla., Rex Stephens of Freedom, Okla., who made his home with them since infancy. Funeral services were conducted by Mr. Clothier at 9 o'clock Friday morning, and then taken overland to Sun City, Kansas where interment was made. A large circle of friends to the relatives were at the cemetery to pay their last respect to a kind and loving neighbor, who will be missed by all who knew him.
"The I.O.O.F. and Bro. Woods and Bro. Owens took charge of the services. The floral offering by friends and relatives was appreciated by all."
